What are they?
- An opportunity to review your current care and treatment (and education if you’re 25 or under) with an independent panel.
- The independent panel are 3 people, one expert by experience (they are autistic or have cared for an autistic person) a clinical expert (someone who works with autistic people) and a chair (to lead the meeting, this might be a commissioner).
- C(E)TRs can bring all your support teams together, with you and those important to you to make recommendations for an ongoing treatment plan.
Who can have one and when?
- People with a diagnosis of Autism, or learning disability and mental health issue
- If you are receiving mental health and/or eating disorder support in the community and/or…
- If you are at risk of an inpatient hospital admission
And…
- If you have been admitted to hospital (within 4 weeks then every 6 months after this)
- A C(E)TR can also happen after discharge to review your ongoing care in the community
