Adult Inpatient (Kinver Ward) :: Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust
Kinver provide integrated nutritional, medical, psychological, and re-integrative care for people with severe eating disorders, such as anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and others eating disorders.
They are a 12-bedded inpatient unit for the treatment of those patients unable to manage their eating disorder in the community. The programme is aimed predominantly to focus on the needs of sufferers of anorexia nervosa.
The programme is flexible enough to allow a variety of options to be available to the patient. These range from a short admission in order to stabilise weight and manage compensatory behaviours to longer admissions aimed at restoring weight back to a healthy level.
The programme is discussed and planned with the patient prior to accepting admission. We believe that motivation to change is paramount to being able to use the programme and to make progress.
Kinver’s inpatient programme offers:
- Group therapy aimed at managing anxiety, assertion difficulties, body image distortion, reduced self-confidence and self-esteem
- Life skills which view the patient as a whole and takes into account their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs
- Individual therapy
- Dietetic advice, analysis and education
- NG feeding if required
- Rehabilitation in terms of shopping, cooking, budgeting, meal planning and eating in company
- A key worker system for additional individual support
- A variety of options for meal time support
- Carer support
- Relapse management
Aspen Centre | Coventry and Warwickshire Partnership NHS Trust
The Aspen Centre is a purpose built facility, on the Warwick Hospital site, which provides specialist inpatient and outpatient treatment, for adults who are living with an eating disorder.
They are a 15-bedded inpatient unit for the treatment of those patients unable to manage their eating disorder in the community.
They have a variety of professionals based at the Aspen centre which include Doctors, Nurses, Occupational Therapists and Dieticians. They work with individuals to recover from their illness but in an individual way that is agreed with them.
Aspen’s inpatient programme offers:
- Group therapy such as body image work, motivational groups and meal challenging
- Individual Therapy
- Community meeting
- Arts and Crafts
- Dietetic advice
- Rehabilitation in terms of shopping, cooking, budgeting, meal planning
- Relapse management
- Weight restoration and/or Stabilisation
Eating disorders service - Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust
Cilantro’s eating disorder service offers a range of specialist treatments and support to people with severe eating disorders such as anorexia and bulimia.
They are a 10-bedded inpatient unit for the treatment of those patients unable to manage their eating disorder in the community.
Patients have access to a broad range of treatments which is supported by a range of psychological therapies as appropriate to the individual needs. Cilantro offers intensive interventions for those at high medical or psychological risks and for those who are motivated to make changes but have been unable to do so as an outpatient or day treatment basis.
On admission a named member of staff will be assigned to the individual until discharge. This person is a specific point of contact. The length of stay will be guided by individual need and can vary from a few weeks to several months.
The inpatient programme combines regular meals and nutritional support with more intensive medical and psychological support.

Cotswold Spa | Worcestershire Eating Disorder Service
Cotswold Spa Hospital is a specialist eating disorder service located in Broadway, Worcestershire.
They are a 12-bedded inpatient unit young people and adults for the treatment of those patients unable to manage their eating disorder in the community. The hospital supports young people and adults between age 18 up to 30 years.
For many young people the transition to an adult bed from a CAMHS bed provides added assurance of continuation of treatment in a familiar environment.
The team are committed to providing comprehensive treatment which supports the individual and their family who are experiencing the impact of an eating disorder. They provide help with weight restoration combined with an intensive therapeutic package working with the individual and their family or carers.
Cotswold Spa offer a range of therapeutic groups and workshops to enable the service users to think about what is happening to them, to feel comfortable expressing their feelings and to make behavioural changes. Their Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) consists of medical, nursing, education and therapeutic professionals, including family therapy and dietetic input.

Oak offers tailored eating disorder treatment options. Inpatient treatment provides 24/7 care for those needing more intensive support. Treatment includes evidence-based approaches like cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help individuals regain mental wellbeing and develop healthier relationships with food.
They are a 9-bedded inpatient unit young people and adults for the treatment of those patients unable to manage their eating disorder in the community.
At Priory, they offer a number of different therapy formats to thier inpatients, such as one-to-one therapy, group therapy and family support. A mixture of therapy types might also be right for you, depending on your treatment programme and the condition you’re struggling with.
They also offer a wide range of tried and tested therapy techniques. These include cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) and mindfulness.
As well as specialist therapy, they also offer access to a range of wellbeing activities as part of the inpatient treatment programmes.
