Clinical Lead / Consultant Psychiatrist
As Clinical Lead for the Collaborative I work closely with consultants across the region to support the implementation of the agreed clinical model. Chair the weekly bed management meetings where the inpatient units come together to discuss and agree referrals and offer support and advice to community teams on the management of patients on their caseloads.
I am also the Consultant Psychiatrist for the inpatient ward in Stafford (Kinver) and community team in Shropshire, Telford & Wrekin. In this role I carry out assessments of new patients referred to the service with a particular focus on psychiatric and physical risk assessment. Provide medical outpatient/ community appointments for community patients, requiring consultant level input. Provide medical input to the team. Attend and chair weekly MDT assessment meetings.
I am the Psychiatry lead for Keele Medical students for South Staffordshire and am an Honorary Senior Lecturer for Keele University School of Medicine.
