Lived Experience Lead
Hello! I'm Emily, the Professional Lead for Lived Experience Practice. I have my own personal lived experience of struggling with an eating disorder and accessing services to support my recovery. In my current role, I focus on co-production—a collaborative process that brings together individuals with lived experience and professionals within services.
This approach allows us to share insights, understand different perspectives, and make informed decisions together.
I'm deeply committed to amplifying the voices of those with lived experiences at every level of our collaborative. This includes planning, implementing, and monitoring shared decision-making processes. I lead a network for individuals who have personally experienced eating disorders, as well as their loved ones. This network provides a platform to express thoughts on our services, influence changes, and guide service development.
To ensure the perspectives of those with lived experiences are integral to our planning and quality assurance, I actively participate in key strategic meetings. This involvement helps us create services that truly reflect the needs and insights of those we aim to support.
I am also responsible for providing training on co-production and establishing robust structures to support and guide participants in our initiatives. Our goal is to enable and empower those who wish to contribute to our co-production efforts.
If you're interested in learning more about co-production or want to help us improve adult eating disorder services across the West Midlands, please reach out. We would love to hear from you and welcome your support in driving meaningful change.
